City of Orange Planning Department makes your life Hell 4 Homeowners User Rating 0.5 rating By TraxyWiggs ( Aug 14, 2014) I have a historic home in Old town Orange and the planning department is making my life hell!!!!!!. They have lied to me, threatened me, and bullied me. Unless you want someone else to dictate what happens to your own home do not sink your life savings into a home in Orange. It i ...Read More s like the Nazi's taking over your life.
I wish I knew this before I committed to living here. Big Mistake. It is criminal that these small minded cogs in the wheel idiots can get away with this kind of intimidation and bullying. Wish I could move. This place has really changed. In the 70's half of the downtown was boarded up and it was really in a downturn. Now that there are all of the rich Chapman University students to pour their money into the downtown they think they can control the residents into shaping the City how they want it. The citizens be damned. NO THANKS
Think twice before you spend any money in this 1984 like town. Read Less
Orange, CA - A City for All User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 30, 2010) I once had a friend tell me that I would fit in perfectly in Orange, CA. He told me that this was a city full of a variety of different people and cultures. Even though this friend has been gone for several years, this always stuck with me. Last summer I went to the place that I ...Read More was told that I would love. He was definitely right. Orange quickly became my favorite city in the whole world.

The city of Orange was unlike any other that I have ever visited. It ties the modern world with a historic and old world feel. There are people from all over that reside there. I felt as if I should have been there my entire life. The city captivates you with its beauty and charms you with its nostalgia. Yet it has all of the amenities and attractions that a person could ask for in a modern place.

There was no possibility of not having something to do in Orange because at each corner you could find a great place to dine, a beautiful nature site, or even a great entertaining event. It has many acres of natural parks which was my favorite. I am now considering making Orange, CA my permanent home. Read Less

      Orange, CA

Orange, California is located in Orange County, about three miles from Santa Ana. With many homes built prior to 1920, Orange stands out, since most homes are more modern. Living and renting are high in Orange, so if you want to move there, get saving. It is a safe and beautiful area in which to live, though, so if you get the chance to move there, do it.

Much of getting around Orange is dependent upon having a car, but OCTA buses and MetroLink transport exists. It is a cheap and easy way to get around the city, and go to others in the area, such as Newport Beach and Los Angeles.

California is well-known for its subtropical, sunny climate, and Orange is no exception. It is generally pleasant year-round, but there is a lot of rain in January. Leave your heavy layers at home, and be prepared to wear your shorts, swimsuit and sunglasses from January to December. Soon, you will be living the California lifestyle!

Orange itself does not have a lot of attractions. There are the Outlets at Orange to get your shopping fix, Irvine Regional Park to wander and the Honda Center for watching sports games or concerts, but, to take full advantage of the area, travel a short ways. Less than 10 minutes away is Anaheim, home to Disneyland. Have a Disney Day by taking pictures in front of the castle, munching on a Mickey Bar or a Dole Whip, and going on all of the rides (do not miss Soarin’!, Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters). Once nighttime hits, end your action-packed day by watching the elaborate shows. World of Color is not to be missed.

A half hour brings you to Los Angeles, one of the largest cities in the country. Take in an LA Dodgers game, go luxury shopping on Rodeo Drive or get an elusive In-N-Out Burger. If you want to get your cultural fix, check out Walt Disney Concert Hall or the Getty Museum of Art. See and be seen in trendy cafés, or, watch the world go by as you hike up Runyon Canyon or the area near the Hollywood Sign. If you want to (literally) see stars, the Griffith Observatory offers multiple viewpoints into the Milky Way.

Living in Orange gives you access to luxurious homes, a safe area in which to live and work and gorgeous weather. Plus, it is so easy to take day trips to Los Angeles or Disneyland for a day, which is a win-win. People are friendly, relaxed, chill and ready to welcome you home to paradise. Good vibes only!
