Small Cajun Style in Opelousas 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Opelousas has a community feel and people are relatively friendly. It is a perfect place to raise a family. It's a town that values families and education. We have a few organizations that tutor children for free including Hope For Opelousas. We also have different recreational a ...Read More ctivities that keep the kids busy particularly sports and other school activities. The schools are decent but could be better academically.

We don't have any type of nightlife, but we do have several restaurants including Cajun and American style restaurants. One of my favorite spots is Crawfish House and Grill on Union Street. They have more than just crawfish including other delicious Cajun flavored seafood. If you love fried chicken, I recommend Mama's Fried Chicken. The chicken is very crispy and not that greasy.

The best part about Opelousas is the homes. It is very easy to buy a home here as the prices are very low. I love the variety of homes in the area as well from old to new. Read Less
