I Can't Recommend Olean, NY as a Good Place to Live User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) I know that growing up our mothers always told us that if we can't say anything nice we should not say anything at all, but in this instance I have something to say that unfortunately isn't all nice. Living in Olean, New York has been quite an unpleasant experience. The residents ...Read More are nice enough, but I'm sad to say that's the only good thing I can say about this town. I've lived in some of the best areas in New York and in comparison, Olean just doesn't measure up. There are few homes or jobs to be found, and the crime rate is creeping up bit by bit. Our schools are shameful when you look at the number of teens who drop out as compared to the number who graduate.

There are a few things to do for fun. Take a trip to Rock City Park if you enjoy hiking. The Covered Wagon Tours are interesting. We have the Cyber Station amusement park that all the kids love, and Xphobia Entertainment escape games. And I do have to acknowledge a favorite little place of mine, Talty's Irish Pub. Read Less
