Oakleaf Plantation: One of North Florida’s Best Suburbs 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) I enjoyed living in Oakleaf Plantation since 2010. The burgeoning area encompasses both Jacksonville and the Orange Park districts. I love that it has two neighboring cities. The Oakleaf Plantation area has blossomed over the past 5 years. It has wonderful schools for all grade levels, the weather is awesome, and the housing market is competitively priced.

I have never had an issue with crime or felt unsafe in my neighborhood. However, crime can be present on the outskirts of town. Oakleaf Plantation surrounds what was once known as the U.S. Navy’s Branan Field, a 4,000-foot airfield for Navy pilot training. The field is now an elementary school. Oakleaf is still somewhat small, although its highways and byways have been extended to accommodate it’s growing stream of traffic. My best areas in Oakleaf Plantation are the Town Center, which is great for shopping and The Jacksonville Landing, a central part of Jacksonville’s downtown area which is near the Jacksonville Jaguars football stadium.
