Oak Harbor, WA is a city located on Whidbey Island. The biggest employer of people in this city is the nearby Naval Air Station Whidbey, followed by the Oak Harbor School District, Whidbey General Hospital, and Wal-Mart.

mild climate. It rarely gets very hot or very cold as its location on an island really moderates the temperature. It does take a while to reach any other city, though, so I would say that living in Oak Harbor is pretty secluded for better or worse.
There is also not much in the way of good shopping opportunities in Oak Harbor. There are the Wal-Mart and an OfficeMax which are the two biggest non-grocery related retail outlets. For food there is also a Haggen's and a Safeway as well as a farmers market in the summer. Except for the Subway restaurant every other place to eat in Oak Harbor is a locally owned company with my favorite one being Flyers Restaurant and Brewery which serves pub food and craft beers.
