North New Hyde Park Is alright for families. The homes and yards are smaller than what you can get if you head farther east on the island and the school districts are adequate, but not spectacular. Many parents will enroll their kids in private schools. However, it is only 40 min away from Manhattan and convenient for that reason.

North New Hyde Park Is crossed by two highways, the LIE and the Grand Central, and has shopping options on Old Country Road and some smaller options. There is a great Sushi Buffet names Minami and lots of smaller dining options as well.

Overall good shopping and dining Options but not the town if you are looking to avoid a crowded life from the city. Read Less
