Beautiful, but an expensive tourist trap. 4 rating By Anonymous ( Feb 27, 2021) I have lived here for 23 years and let me just skip to the good and the bad.
Pros:
Very beautiful
Many, many things to do
Schools are decent
Great food
Very safe
Friendly police officers

Cons:
Wind, wind, and more wind
Freezing winters, hot humid summers
Tourists
BAD TRAFFIC
Har ...Read More dly any jobs outside of low paying retail or restaurant jobs.
Lack of rentals avaliable
If you're young, good luck trying to make friends
Everything closes by 10pm

Many who come here don't even realize just how bad the hidden drug scene is. With that being said; however, it is very safe as long as you avoid that whole scene and the very few homeless people here are also very safe to be around. You can walk as a woman alone at night and won't have to worry about anything. Something to BE AWARE of though is this town has very few sidewalks and many many narrow roads. The biggest danger to you is being hit by a car, wear reflectors of some sort and a light at night. Be very vigilant when walking up or down hills and step aside if you hear a car coming, they won't see you. Read Less
