      Housing in North Bay is quite affordable and gives you the option of choosing between rural or urban living in a variety of beautiful neighbourhoods. Camp Champlain, Cook Mills and Wallace Heights have lovely residential homes and safe neighbourhoods, which make them ideal for families. Property along the waterfront is slightly more expensive although still far cheaper than in other parts of the country. If you’re looking for more lively living in a vibrant atmosphere, check out the area around Thibeault Terrace, which is popular with university students.

      While the majority of North Bay’s population is English speaking, there are a large number of French-speaking residents as well. Those with young children will be happy to know that there are Anglophone and Francophone schools in the area. It’s also easy to get around within the city as North Bay Transit offers services offers including intercity buses and trains in the area too, as well as special services for disabled passenger on the Parabus. Another highlight of North Bay’s infrastructure is the medical system. The city is served by a full service hospital including a full range of specialized services.

      Ask any resident and they’ll tell you that clean lakes, fresh water and fresh air is the best part about living in North Bay. Any North Bay resident will tell you about the festivals, special events and farmer’s market that take place in the city, but you should also know about the great sandy beaches along the waterfront that residents flock to in the summer. There are also excellent trails for walking, biking and hiking, not to mention skiing and snowmobiling in the snowy winter months. One of the best-kept secrets of this northern Ontario town is the high quality of live theatre.
