Sunny Side is definite ...Read More ly considered as being a very livable area, and I can certainly attest to that.

During the time I lived in Sunny Side, I hardly needed any forms of private or public transportation. Everything I needed was located within walking distance from my place of residence, and I made sure to take full advantage of the opportunity I had of saving costs from having a car or needing to ride a taxi. Compared to most cities in New York, the cost of living in Sunny Side is very affordable and practical. The cost of living index in Sunny Side is 13% lower than the rest of New York, which is quite a difference considering the reputation the state has for living expenses.

I was surprisingly able to withstand the climate of Sunny Side. Although New York is notorious for cold winters, the average winter temperature doesn't even drop below freezing. Also, the summers are quite pleasant, as the average highs are around 70 degrees. This is a very comfortable temperature for me during the summers, as I've also lived in the South. Such a big difference! I was certainly able to acclimate to the weather of New York after spending some time in the summers of southern states.

The amount of local amenities available within walking distance was incredible, and is one of the primary reasons I chose the area as my residence. From my place of residence, there were several groceries, food and drink shops, shopping venues, parks, libraries, and much more. I was a student while residing in Sunny Side, and one of the greatest advantages of living there was the close proximity of all my necessary shopping markets. Since there was always a need to study throughout the day, there wasn't much time for me to spare for grocery and clothes shopping. Since there were so many stores within walking distance, I never had to worry about expending much time or energy when looking to pick something up. The people are friendly, the area is relatively safe, and the weather is nothing to fret about. Considering the fact that New York is a busy City and State that constantly progresses towards economical prestige, it is a very livable place for anyone striving to succeed. Read Less
