Like a good bottle of wine Howard Beach gets better with age. User Rating 5 rating By TheBigPolenta ( Aug 04, 2022) I have written a number of reviews on Howard Beach. Mainly positive.
It's hard to believe when I turn on the T.V. that I'm living in New York City

Howard Beach is like living on Long Island minus thousands in property taxes.
Homes are continually beautified. Amenities are bountiful. People are
friendly. Dogs are friendlier. Drive down to Charles Park. Plenty parking.
Enjoy the ocean breeze while you stroll around the park this summer.
If you are lucky you might run into the local Ice cream truck. Yummy.

Howard Beach Spring 2019 User Rating 4.5 rating By TheBigPolenta ( May 18, 2019) The sun is shining brightly and the seagulls squawking. Howard Beach is an Oasis of peacefulness and quiet.
Amenities are amazing . Commercial chains stores such as Chipotle and Planet Fitness have invested in the neighborhood.

Access to Parkway and Expressways are a few short minutes. Property Taxes in New York have have risen. Example: $850,000 for a move in ready home and $ 7,000 property taxes. A fixer upper will run you $600,000 and $5,000 in property taxes. Flood Insurance is advised running from as low as $500 to upwards of
$5,000 per year depending on property history of claims. Howard Beach Consists of a New Side and Old Side. The New Side has note worthy mansions that are just spectacular with manicured lawns and the Old Side has a more of a quaint Fisherman's appeal with many water views and homes on the inlet and maritime access to Jamaica Bay. There are Videos on Youtube to entertain you
with a short drive through the neighborhood. A great place to raise a family or Retire. Read Less

There is ongoing cnstruction projects of local businesses along Crossbay Blvd. The crime is negligible within these boundaries. Unfortunately most if not all crimes attributed to the neighborhood are beyond the surroundings mentioned and crimes occurring within surroundings are committed in the shopping district along Crossbay Blvd. by those passing by and not living here. The winters were cold for 2018 similar to that of Northern Virginia, upper Maryland and Central Pa. The summers are a paradise. I have only had to use the A.C. 2 days at most since the ocean and bay coastal breeze keeps the area comfortable. The home prices have spiked as the neighborhood appears newer which each day that passes. Great place to safely raise a family or retire. Read Less
