Been living here for 10 years now. Economically it has been a struggle especially since the real estate bubble burst. Cost of living is not much different than north jersey but good jobs are few and far between which means having a commute of 1 to 1 1/2 hours to NYC or North Je ...Read More
rsey where there may be better salaries. Also, NJ has an unemployment rate of 9.7 % the 4th highest in the nation. I moved down here to be near the ocean and because I thought a house would be a good investment. Well between the economy and Sandy, that all is changing. The good thing about this location is that the trains and bus to NYC are very close as well as all the major highways. I am 9 blocks from the beach and there is lots of shopping nearby and am minutes from Jersey Shore Medical Center.
