We moved to SC eight years ago from the suburbs of Washington, DC. I never anticipated that I would miss living near a city so much, so this review is biased in the sense that I would prefer living where there is easy access to public transportation, the arts, superb dining, abundant organic produce and organic shopping.

I wouldn't suggest raising your family in the area. It would be a fun family vacation, but if it were not for the fact that my son was selected to attend the Academy of Arts, Science and Technology in his Junior year of high school, I probably would not have been happy with the education he received. South Carolina, at the time he attended school, was ranked 48th for education! He graduated 2007

Unless you are in the service industry, jobs are scarce. And, if you are in the service industry, it is my understanding that the pay is below the national average.

Our home, purchased in 2004, is now underwater and it doesn't look promising that it will recover any time soon. (It is 2012 as I write this review)

Dining. If you like fried, buffet, Calabash style, then you will love the dining options.
Shopping: While there are two malls and two Tanger outlets, I find the shopping to be seen that, nothing new.
