If you enjoy being outdoors then Muskegon Heights, MI is located near P.J. Hoffmaster State Park which offers great ski trails in the winter and excellent hiking trails in the summer. Nearby is also Pere Marquette Park which is located on the shore of Lake Michigan and offers a great beach, volleyball, playground, full-service restaurant, and bar, as well as the World War II Submarine USS Silversides.

While there are some great places to visit that are conveniently located near Muskegon Heights, MI it is not a place where I would choose to live. There much better communities in and around the Muskegon area that are just as close to the parks and attractions listed above and have a significantly lower crime rate and better schools but may be a bit higher cost of living.
