This quaint little village has been around since the mid 1600's, initially the trading post between the Potawatomi people and fur traders from France. Peter Sh ...Read More addie is listed as the first settler of the town from the early 19th century when he erected a log cabin on the street that is now his namesake. The same log cabin has been owned by St. Mary of the Lake Seminary since 1835.

In today's world things to do in the Mundelein area include Barefoot Bay, a fantastic water park that includes slides, a lazy river and a pool. There is also a concession area that serves snacks. If beer sampling intrigues you a visit to Tighthead Brewing Company may be a place to stop. Offering a variety of craft beers as well as a tasty selection of entrees makes this one stop you do not want to miss. The University of St. Mary of the Lake and Seminary offer tours of the university that teaches those who have received God's calling to serve. Read Less
