Mount Vernon, NY - Quiet and Clean User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 05, 2010) Mount Vernon is a cool place to visit. I went to Mount Vernon the summer of 09 and loved every aspect of the New York City. They have the great St. Paul's Church National Historic Site Museum, which is a great place to take the kids.

During my visit to Mount Vernon, I was lucky
...Read More to be able to see the Breeze Concert series, which showcased urban and jazz music at its best. They also had a Samba band, a Brazilian band, and a orchestra perform. They even had one of the groups from Nickelodean's Nick Jr preform for the kids, it was a great time for everyone involved.

At the concert series they offer samplings of Hispanic, African and Asian cuisines, but my husband enjoyed the Jamaican jerky stand. The food is absolutely wonderful. The restaurants in the area don't really offer a specific type of style, but a lot of places serve classic American foods and meals.

They don't have a lot of attractions in Mount Vernon, so I don't think I would visit again, but if I was in the area I would make sure to stop by. It is a quiet and clean little city with a nice feel about it. Read Less
