Charming Country Life User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Mount Airy is a small country town in North Carolina. I've lived here for 20 years, which is my entire life. The people are so nice, and the atmosphere in the town is relaxing. The hustle and bustle of larger towns don't exist here. Most of the people who live in Mount Airy are o ...Read More lder, and I often talk to many of the people in town while walking on the city sidewalks and while I'm in the cafe in the morning before going to work.

One of the popular places where many men gather in the city is Floyd's City Barbershop. It has the iconic red, white, and blue barber pole outside and a bench outside where people sit either before or after they get their hair cut. Downtown Mount Airy features several special events during the year. One is a Christmas parade with older cars, horses pulling buggies, and local high school marching bands. The Andy Griffith Museum is also a popular attraction since most of the show was filmed in the town. Read Less
