Merrick--Like A Small City User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Merrick is very family-friendly and adult-friendly. I enjoy living there because it is a safe neighborhood with plenty of amenities and leisure places. There are plenty of options when it comes to supermarkets. There is a Trader Joe's, as well as a Stop & Shop. You can satisfy ma ...Read More ny different food cravings because there are a lot of different restaurants. There is at least one Catholic church, a Greek Orthodox church and a synagogue.

The neighborhood is very well-developed, with nice things in walking distance from each other. The library is within walking distance of the movie theater, which is also within walking distance of the Long Island Railroad. Sunrise Highway runs through Merrick, which is good because it is a major artery that runs horizontally throughout Long Island.


Merrick is also very close to all of the great things that the surrounding neighborhoods have to offer. Living in Merrick has allowed me to easily commute into New York City—for both work and play. Read Less
