Mechanicsville, VA - City Review User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2018) I have been living in Mechanicsville, VA for over 10 years while working in Richmond, and I just love it. It is a short commute, but what a difference from coming from a large city to a small town atmosphere. The town is low-key and has safe communities with the low crime rate.

...Read More The weather is seasonal with moderate temperatures. Our area has a low air pollution rate that is 98% better than the rest of the country. Wonderful place to raise a family. The town has great schools with a high graduation rate. Greggs Woods Park has wooded trails and a nice safe place to take a hike.

Real estate can be a bit pricey as the household income in Mechanicsville is above average. The area is densely populated, but not a lot of racial diversity. There is local shopping but limited if you like a lot of variety. Not much nightlife or evening entertainment as the area is more family oriented. Read Less
