Maynard is where my family grew up, of course during the 60&70s family time was important. We had lots of activities withiin the town, from recreation to brownies and 4-H . We had place to swim and a summer program for kid's > We had an outdoor skating rink thanks to our local fi ...Read More
re dept. And we had police bike sales .Downtown was the place to be firestones would let you buy an item and make payments without credit card. Your name was all they required. They sold toys, sports gear, bikes and di car repair. Then the outdoor store opened, at 1st it was used clothing but they grew and are still there today. People from surrounding towns shop there. Maynard has and still offers everything from Bar rooms to plenty of pizza7 sub shops to stores like Russells, corner store and tedeshi' with dunkins of course. We played outside and grew up with kids in our neighborhood. We also helped our neighbors when sick, or whatever we brought over food, & could borrow a cup of sugar yup those are the times i grew up with in my little town of Maynard. We knew each other and heard everything before it made the Beacon lol so rumors where fun to hear but it can be twisted by the time it reaches you ! Makes me laugh now but sometimes we all enjoy our privacy. It's a great place to raise a family there is so much to offer and not far from the citys of Boston,Worcester or Lowell also tax free New Hampshire and the ocean are near by along with Cape Cod or Rhode Island. We have train's,planes and the T to enjoy the city life ao what did i like about growing up in Maynard, well everything !

I don't know how to put into words what it feels like to be living in a wonderful place like Maynard, MA. To say it's one of the best areas in the whole state just doesn't do it justice. You really have to experience it for yourself to understand how perfect life here is. Yes, th ...Read More
ere's a bit of crime. I challenge you to show me a place where there's not these days. But our crime is minimal, thankfully. People have jobs that pay a decent wage, they have nice homes that they take pride in keeping nice so as to further improve the community. Our schools have some of the most impressive test scores in the country and excellent graduation rates as well. All of these things speak to the integrity and great nature of the people who live here. I couldn't be more proud to be among their number.
Come on to Maynard for a visit and swing by The Boston Chocolate School for a tour, or the Butterfly Place observatory. There's a lot to do and see here. You just might decide you want to stay!
