New Resident of Matthews 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( Jul 29, 2019) Nice community, good hospital, doctors & schools. Lots of retail which is handy; however, that brings in more crime. Lot of free town events (food truck Fri ...Read More days, movies and concerts in the park, holiday events). Matthews Alive Festival at Labor Day draws people from all over the state. Housing prices are going through the roof. They're overbuilding Matthews. Wherever there is a parcel of land, housing is going up. Taxes are rising. Used to be a great place to live but now is getting too crowded and seeing an increase in crime and traffic. Read Less
