Martinsville Indiana: The Goldfish Capital of the World 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 28, 2018) I had a delightful experience while living in Martinsville Indiana. The city is situated in Morgan County. Martinsville is close to Plainfield Indiana. The town has an impressive academic structure. The cost of living is a plus and employment opportunities are strong. Housing is ...Read More scarce and crime has somewhat heightened over the years. Nonetheless, the weather here is beautiful and worth capitalizing on.

Some of the best areas in Martinsville Indiana surround Martinsville City Park. The area has popular recreational activities and is known for Grassyfork Fisheries which was a swamp converted into fisheries back in 1899. Today, the city still has large fisheries that serve as a supplier of goldfish around the world. The city was known for its mineral water sanitorium and its first black spa. The city hosts a line of events throughout the year. The events include the Fall Foliage Festival, the Morgan County Fair, Farmer’s Market Day, and the Artie Fest to name a few. The town has a lot of history surround fisheries. Read Less
