I live in Martinez, CA and enjoy making it my home. Martinez is the county seat and is modern and up to date. Yet, it has vineyards and local farms that still produce fresh products. It has a wonderful park by the water and a number of great museums.
Centered around Pacheco Boulevard, the town features a variety of restaurants and artist shops. I love to visit the home of John Muir who lived in Martinez. The Martinez adobe of the ranch owner, Vincente Martinez, still stands and is now a park. Because of its location on the water, Martinez is home to a number of oil refineries that supply fuel for the San Francisco Bay Area.
Martinez has a great family atmosphere centering around yearly festivals and entertainment shows. Shopping centers offer a variety of stores and restaurants to visit. Martinez features a variety of both blue and white-collar jobs. It has some of the lower housing prices in the San Francisco Area. Plus, if you like martinis, a bar owner created the drink in Martinez.
