When you hear Marshfield, you think of swamps, right? The deputy surveyor promises that "This Township is nearly all Dry Land, There being no Swamp of consequence in it."

e primary industries with local cheese being shipped to larger markets by railroads running through the town. Marshfield had so many railroad tracks that is was called "Hub City." After World War II, Roehl Transport became a primary employer. There is also hydraulic fracking for oil and gas.
The town has very good schools, Marshfield High School was ranked as the 2nd most challenging school in Wisconsin in 2014 by the "Washington Post." There are also local University of Wisconsin branches in the town. The housing is not the greatest in Marshfield, Wisconsin. You have plenty of amenities and the cost of living is very low. You might want to check out the Blue Heron BrewPub.
