Maple Heights, OH: Inexpensive Option to Cleveland 3 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Maple Heights, Ohio is a suburb of Cleveland located on the southeast side. This city is unfortunately known locally as being a "bad" part of town, with crime rates increasing each year for things like theft, breaking and entering, and even more violent crimes. While the west sid ...Read More e of the city is generally considered safer, the eastern side is considered to be much worse.

Maple Heights used to be a great place to live until jobs were lost and homeowners moved away leading to those houses being rented to low-income families. Since then, Maple Heights has been in fast decline. The public school system has quickly declined as well with students fighting and teacher to student ratios being higher than ever.

With that being said, some of the positives of Maple Heights include the city's vibrant nightlife and it's cultural diversity. These factors are what sustains the economy of Maple Heights and is what gives it value to the Cleveland area.

Overall, Maple Heights would be a good option for people looking to save money and not live directly in Cleveland, or pay city taxes. If you are mindful of the places to avoid and you don't cause any trouble then you should be safe. Read Less
