Madison Heights: Safe and Fun! User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Madison Heights, Michigan is one of the best suburbs of Detroit. It is safe and away from the city's notorious crime scene, and is very culturally and economically diverse. It offers extensive housing options with a varying price range, and is close to many fun town like Ferndale ...Read More and Royal Oak. While Madison Heights itself may not be as bustling and commerce-heavy like those towns, its proximity to shopping and nightlife make it an excellent choice for someone looking to live in the Detroit area without compromising on safety.

Weather in this area is like that of the rest of Michigan. Winters are very cold and snowy, but summers are very hot. Madison Heights isn't too far away from the great lakes or some nice inland lakes, where all the summertime fun happens.

Employment prospects are good. Madison Heights is close to many other Michigan cities and suburbs with large corporate centers and there are plenty of shopping opportunities nearby as well. Overall, I'd say that Madison Heights is a great option to save money and still be close to the fun of the Detroit area. Read Less
