Lynbrook--A calm NYC Suburb With Nosy Neighbors 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) Lynbrook, New York, is a decent place to live. After years of growing up here, I would say that there are a lot of pros, but also some cons. One major pro is that it is generally a good neighborhood to live in and walk around. It has a calm, safe, suburban atmosphere. Also, there ...Read More is a Long Island Railroad stop. Numerous buses also pass through the neighborhood. There is a White Castle location in Lynbrook, which is very unique because there really aren't that many White Castles around.

Like I said, there are some cons. One major con is the fact that Lynbrook is particularly known for nosy neighbors and residents who are paranoid and trigger happy with calling 911. The neighborhood has its own local police department, and they are especially known for stopping, frisking and harassing people. If you walk around there enough, you will get stopped by police at some point, and you will have to show your ID. Read Less
