If a person is the victim of a crime, it seems as if the area has a lot of crime.... HOWEVER it is even more important to remember the other 14 years I have lived in this house, and never had so much as a passing driver flip a cigarette butt on my lawn! Last week, on the other hand, a couple of local hoodlums broke a window, entered my house, and kicked my poor dog! (if for no other reason, they should go to prison for hurting a poor innocent animal. Judging an area by a single incident can make my zip code seem terrifying. After growing up in Columbus, living in one neighborhood, going to school in another, and dating girls whose parents always thought I was a nice young man (WOW I sure had them fooled.) I knew what a scary neighborhood was. The guy who is now my dentist grew up in one. London, Ohio does not contain one....At All. Anywhere. There are low income areas. There are parts of town, with cars on blocks, in the front AND the back yards. To the best of my knowledge, there has never been a drive-by shooting here. Aside from the dangers associated with cow tipping, the area doesn't have any dangers you wouldn't find in Columbus, it al. It does, however, lack some of them. My wife & I made a conscious decision, to move out of Columbus. To this day, we stand by that decision.
