I have owned a home in Lombard for almost 19 years now and I hope to be moving by the end of 2019. Lombard has never been my cup of tea, but when I bought here it was because the real estate market is a seller's market and I just could not find a home in my price range in the ar ...Read More
ea in Villa Park where I wanted to live. For me, the most positive aspect of Lombard is access to so many highways and expressways. There are many options to make commuting easy - but the traffic in this area is pretty heavy. I hate Roosevelt Road = so congested and so many stop and go lights. St. Charles Road is a better alternative. Next, I suppose is the amount of shopping and dining locations - but most are on Butterfield road which is 3 miles south of me. Oakbrook mall is close by, as is Yorktown mall - but I am not a mall person so I never shop either of these. The tax rates in Lombard are high and I know that dining in the Yorktown area is taxed at a higher rate than other parts of the Village. Real Estate taxes are high, and there just doesn't seem to be a community feel. The town also screwed me over some years ago when they did capital improvements for sewers, sidewalks, and street lamps. These improvements cost me personally almost 14,000. They convinced everyone to do a 30-year loan to pay the levied improvement fee - but they never said that they put a lien on the homes. So when the crash came in 2008-2011 I wanted to refinance and could not because of the friggin lien on my home by the village in FIRST POSITION in front of my actual mortgage. I went to city meetings and tried to work with my area council person but to no avail. They would not budge. So I had to take money out of my IRA in order to pay off the entire lien in order to refinance. This has left me with a bad feeling about Lombard. To be honest, I pretend I live in Villa Park instead of here. I will not miss this place.

The incomes have been falling here for years, and they are as a result the offensive and angry at diversity who are not poor and it will go on forever if you spend any time there with that issue becoming known to eg Lombard PD that is known to go out of their area when they get s ...Read More
tarted. If you request a copy of the most recent act of falsification, it will be posted to the public internet to escalate attempting to make you poor with public defamation and falsification filings. I have had to pay large sums out of their area for defamation and falsification filings counter to public real estate records, public commuting to work every day they not in my area have filed reports claiming otherwise, etc, Their local resident was an angry white middle class male who had been picked up for stalking by his employer enraged at my income he obtained via his employer. The use of a local government for this causes extreme hardship amounts the public is calculated to be unable to pay that after this period of time ever since have gone to dollar amounts for police reports law requires prosecution of Lombard PD for falsified for their crnoy picked up for stalking out of Lombard of people who do not live in Lombard who can't as much as a safely use area businesses in the Chicago suburbs, not an isolated farm community, where this is an issue for the public about a local government worse than the stalker who continue to public internet post about victims the courts have removed them from.

I lived in Lombard, IL for about a year in my mid-thirties. We were living there because my husband had a temporary assignment in nearby Chicago. We wanted a place where we could live that would allow us to raise our kids and yet still be reasonably close to Chicago. Lombard was ...Read More
the ideal place for at the time. With the help of a real estate agent, we were able to see several houses in a single day and find the right one for our needs. As the mother of three children, schools are obviously very important to me. I was able to find a house that allowed all of my kids to have a bedroom of their own and also allowed us access to the excellent local school district.
There are many things that I liked about living in Lombard. The town is not too big so you can easily get to know your neighbors. It also not too small so it has many amenities. I was particularly pleased to be there during the Lilac Festival when people have a chance to see the entire city in bloom during the spring. The Greek Islands Restaurant West was a particular favorite of ours, offering hearty Greek meals in a charming setting we just loved.
While Lombard is quite family friendly, it does not offer much in the way of nightlife. This may not the place for those who are looking for the singles and want to go out every night. Access to nearby Chicago is easy from the town by that does involve driving there or taking a local area train. The city tends to be quiet, with people focused on family, friends and child centered activities.
