Lindenhurst--A Long Island Neighborhood User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) I grew up in Lindenhurst, though I recently moved out of state to Pennsylvania. I like Lindenhurst, though I wouldn't say that there is anything special about it other than the fact that it is reasonably close to New York City—one of the most exciting places, ever. There are ac ...Read More tually some pretty nice pubs in the area, including BrewHaus Pub and Village Pub. These places are really nice because they have live music events. The Long Island Railroad runs through the neighborhood, which makes it really easy to get into Manhattan and surrounding Long Island neighborhoods.


Lindenhurst is on Long Island, and is pretty close to the shoreline, so it is a great location for people who like to occasionally be beach bums. My pet peeve is that despite the fact that the Long Island Railroad makes it easy to get to places, it is really expensive to get from the Lindenhurst station—or any of the surrounding stations—to New York City. They really rip people off. The train schedules could be better, too. Read Less
