Tribe and is the first Native-owned winery in the nation. There are several locally owned wineries in the area that offer tastings and have seasonal events and feature entertainment.
This town once housed textile and furniture manufacturers but lost these jobs to overseas outsourcing so employment is low. This has led to a higher crime rate and poorer education. Moving here will allow you more housing square footage for the buck, but you need to find a job elsewhere. High Point and Winston Salem are an easy commute. There are good local shopping sites and great local food. The weather has four seasons but is usually mild. It can be humid in the summertime.
