Langley Park is not for Everyone 1.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Langley Park is not your typical Maryland community. Affordable housing is plentiful but mediocre. The area's residents come from many different parts of the world, which makes things interesting. My brief time living in Langley Park was memorable, but there were a lot of negativ ...Read More e aspects that are still present. Criminal activity involving drugs and gangs have caused problems over the years. It's not the worst area, but far from the best.

Among the positive aspects of this tiny area are the many choices for shopping and dining. There are two big shopping centers and many smaller shops in the area. Many cater to the Hispanic and West Indian communities. Langley Park is about 15 minutes away from Washington, D.C. and is close to everything. Public transportation is good for those that don't drive.

Some of the best areas are the neighborhoods that are close to College Park and Takoma Park. The area's elementary schools are acceptable, but needs updating. There are some nice places to live in the community that are reasonably priced. Read Less
