Lakeville, Minnesota, a great place to call home. 5 rating By Anonymous ( Mar 10, 2015) I have lived in Lakeville, Minnesota for over 23 years. At that time, we were searching for an affordable house with a nice yard and good schools. Luckily, when we bought our house, we also got a strong community firmly committed to making Lakeville an exemplary place to live. I ...Read More like living in Lakeville because it has people who care about each other along with great government, churches and resources while being close to Minneapolis and St. Paul. With the Mall of America only 15 minutes away, it is easy to not only have the latest fashions in my closet, but a fun place to window shop or spend a night out. Overall, I would say that Lakeville is very child-centric. However, when we need a date night, Lakeville has some great restaurants. Harry's Café and Porterhouse Steak and Seafood are two restaurants we like to go to for excellent food and drink.

Everyone enjoys the parks that dot the city. When the weather warms up, the parks fill with walkers, bikers and soccer and baseball players. My favorite park to walk in is the largest park, Ritter Farm Park. It was once a working farm but now it is a park with echoes of farm life. Tranquil and quiet, it is hard to believe that I am not in the country but only a stone's throw from the freeway.

Lakeville has been written up in numerous magazines as one of the top places to live in the United States. After living here for so many years, I heartily agree with this consensus. Lakeville is not only a great place to raise a family but a wonderful place to call home.
