As a 60+ male with a violent life, I was made to feel very much in "high alert " mode the entire two weeks of stay in n. Kihei, hi. STRESS can kill over year's. Being tribal member of an Oregon tribe, I have been attacked by white folk monthly if not more. The stink eye is daily. ...Read More
THAT'S harsh. In this town I had zero respect from all colors and sex. The ' go lady's lesbian group was so 'in your face 'literally' had to hold my wife right with stern to aggressive behavior. No fun at all. Gangs of ethnic groups were very open and for the first time in my very extreme violent life, was shown a bare a** of a punk Filipino boy while trying to enjoy the evening sunset with wife and two grandsons. I did not leave as I believe was there intent to make me want to. I waited for a more avert show of physical violence to allow for a reaction in kind. I do not talk. Time is of the essence in violent incidents. Their "leader(s) came and talked to the punk while slowly edging away. My history shows on my body with a life to death and back 8day hospital stay from a stab wound to my stomach from a 9" Bowie' knife. I scheduled knives over punk disrespect any day. On top of aggressive lesbians to pond suck punks, the blatant approaches at the condo poolside for sexual encounters with other married(?) Couples really put my STRESS at an all time high. All my history which it lousy, (as in many -many) with violence yet Kihei were the worst. Kihei is a very closed in town making it difficult to find sanctuary that will be respected. Be aware people. At over 3000% higher crime than national average Kihei sucks. Even the boy' cops have no respect.

Some of the best areas in Kihei are its beaches, whether the goal is to relax or to be adventurous. One of the best things to do for nature lovers is to go Whale watching at Maalaea Bay. Known as one of the top places in Kilhei is Molokini, an amazing dive spot for its clear waters. Overall, if you just moved here and want to go to any beach you may want to partake in snorkeling, kayaking, surfing, etc.
The more people live here, the more appreciate The Fourth Friday is. The community uses the fourth Friday together to listen to music, dances, and indulge in the wonderfully unique food trucks.
