Keokuk, Iowa A Fantastic Place to Live! 5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) It's really great living in Keokuk, Iowa right along the banks of the Mississippi where it's known as the "Gate City" bordering both Missouri and Illinois. I really enjoy living here, especially on winter mornings when I have a great view of the river and bald eagles nesting in t ...Read More he trees!

This area is rich in history as well, with tales from the civil war, fur traders and access to the river means there are quite a few different stories about pirates and the steamboat days too!

One of the greatest attractions here is the lock and dam. It's pretty cool to watch! If you are looking for employment the production industry is really booming here. This is a family friendly community where everyone is quite neighborly.

There's all kinds of shopping available with really cool small shops and boutiques with unique gifts. The food selections are great too with different pizzeria's, Chinese restaurants, Mexican food and good old American food too!

I really do love it here and can't picture anywhere else in the world as great as Keokuk! Read Less
