You’re not safe there, drugs, robberies etc. My brother was stabbed to death by his roommate and friend of 20 years. No one saw it coming! My brother had been reported missing the next day his friends went looking for him, and found his car in a church parking lot which was cle ...Read More
arly seen from the street and next door to where my brother had been living. They called police, 6 hours later they finally show up. They go to the duplex my brother had been living in and all the windows were open and splashed with blood. Which means they didn’t even investigate the fact he was missing. They go inside blood is everywhere. They supposedly took a report but nothing else. 2 days later my brother’s roommate turned himself in and told police where the body was. Police came to the door to let my family and I know that my brother had passed but when my mom asked how he died they wouldn’t tell us. Then an hour later it’s all over the news he had been stabbed to death. Every detail after that went the same way. We asked to be informed on the status of the person who killed him for safety reasons which was a hit or miss. My brother’s gun is still missing. We are almost positive that the killer’s mother has it who is no more stable than her son. My brothers friends cornered her in a speedway parking lot and said they saw the case. Neighbors claimed they heard nothing but duplex walls are typically paper thin so I don’t buy it. The wife of the guy that killed my brother went and did a documentary about it and made it out to be some dysfunctional love story between her and the killer. She also stated that he’s killed people before so I am suspicious of her as well. She moved out of the duplex about a month before my brother was killed. Bottom line no one genuinely cares about you there including the ones we pay to protect us. I hope you find home wherever that is but I wouldn’t make it there if I were you and wanting to be safe and protected.

I have lived in Kentwood, Michigan for about 10 years. I moved to the area after I had my daughter because of a job offer. This is one thing that lured me to the city. There are several jobs waiting to be filled in numerous areas. I love the family atmosphere of the city. I can s ...Read More
it on my front porch at night to watch as people walk down the sidewalk. The homes are somewhat older, but there are new apartment buildings going up in the downtown area.
Many of the restaurants that are in Kentwood have more sandwiches and hamburgers than they have steaks and the finer meals that you might find in a bigger city. The prices are a little high, but the servings are large, so it's worth the money going out to eat on occasion. There are several shopping malls that I have been to in the city. Most of the stores are the typical retail stores that you would see in any other city. One thing that the area has going for it is the automotive industry. The Gerald Ford Museum has a large display of cars as well as the history of the car industry in the United States. Most of the attractions in the city are historical. It's a lot of museums and older houses that you can tour. My children enjoy learning about science and history, so this is a plus for our family. When summer arrives, it's best to stay inside because it can get very humid, which is something I don't like, and in the winter, you deal with a large amount of snow and ice.
