I've lived in many great cities in Metro Atlanta, but Kennesaw is definitely my favorite for several reasons. One is the location. You can be in Atlanta or the North Georgia Mountains in half an hour, which means plenty of fun in the city or peace and quiet in the country, depend ...Read More
ing on your mood. Traffic can get a little crazy, but it does flow smoothly most days, especially if you can avoid rush hour.
But you don't have to leave Kennesaw to have a good time. I love visiting the parks here, especially Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. Not only is it a great place to walk my dog, but it's filled with historic sites and monuments from the Civil War, so it's a fun place for a history buff like myself. Town Center is, hands down, one of the best malls in the Atlanta area, and it just happens to be here in Kennesaw. I never shop anywhere else. There are also hundreds of restaurants throughout the town, so you'll always find the cuisine to suit your cravings.
Beyond that, I think Kennesaw is a great place to raise a family. The schools are good, the people in the community are decent, and the home prices are fairly low compared to other nearby cities. Kids' sports are big here, and there are plenty of green spaces to hang out and have a good time. One of the biggest colleges in Georgia, as well as one of the biggest hospitals in the state are located here, which means plenty of jobs, wonderful educational opportunities, and great healthcare.
