Kailua CDP - High Cost of Living 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) Kailua CDP is beautiful, but the cost of living is quite high. The high cost of living is very common for Hawaii. There are many benefits of living here including the weather, beach access, and amenities. My family and I spend most of our free time on Kailua Bay and Kawainui Regi ...Read More onal Park. We love to relax on the beach building sand castles, swimming, taking the boat out, and fishing.

We have a lot of restaurant options including Uahi Island Grill which has native Hawaiian food that is very delicious. Since the cost of living is so high, I usually result in cooking at home, but we do have several grocery options to choose from including Whole Foods Market, Safeway, and Target. The cost of groceries is a lot higher than back home.

I haven't done a lot of clothes shopping since I moved here, but there are several boutiques with Hawaiian style clothing or light garments. It is nice to wear dresses and shorts all year round. Read Less
