I have lived all around southern Florida for most of my life, including living in Jupiter, Florida for some time. Jupiter is a beautiful city with a very desirable location. Jupiter is on the east coast, with miles of beaches along with the inlet and river running through it. It ...Read More
is located in the northern most part of Palm Beach County so you get all the benefits of being near the big city without actually having to live in it. In Jupiter, you are close to major interstates, as well as Palm Beach International Airport.
While Jupiter is a beautiful city, it does have a few downsides. Many retirees have homes in the area where they spend the winter. Between the months of November to May, traffic can get congested with the influx of, what we in south Florida call, snowbirds. The nightlife in Jupiter lacks a little as well, with bars being the main source of the nightlife entertainment. Luckily, again, being close to West Palm Beach allows more options if you don't mind driving a little.
There are many activities and attractions around the Jupiter area, just depending on your interests. Jupiter is home to the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse, which was erected in 1860 and is a National Historic landmark. As mentioned before, the many waterways in Jupiter allow for water sports such as jet skiing, surfing, kayaking, or even just relaxing and watching the waves roll in. Jupiter is also home to spring training facilities for Major League teams the St. Louis Cardinals and Miami Marlins. During the spring season you can catch a cheap game between Major League teams. For shopping, the Palm Beach Gardens Mall is very close and offers a variety of stores.
