Irmo, A Touch Of Class Near Columbia And Lake Murray 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) Irmo, SC is a beautiful town in the Columbia area. It’s just 20 minutes away from Columbia proper, but a lot of Columbia businesses are just 10 or 15 minutes away.

There are a lot of attractions that are considered part of Columbia, but they’re actually part of the Seven Oaks, Saint Andrews, or Oak Grove areas. Riverbanks Zoo is on the outskirts of Columbia proper, and Frankie’s Fun Park is just outside of Harbison State Forest near Irmo.

The best areas in Irmo are heading towards Lake Murray, or on the Lake Murray Blvd strip just before you reach I-26. There are a lot of restaurants on Lake Murray Blvd, and you can enjoy the downtown area while having enough time to visit Columbia without spending too much time on travel. Read Less
