Good place to live 4 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 05, 2019) I lived in independence for a few years but still come over to shop and run errands. There good and bad neighborhoods the higher the numbers of the street you are the better. The border is 23rd street from living good and decent to druggy run down are lower. Even the houses can ...Read More tell you where you are from mansion average to run down. Most of the houses are cheap and a lot of stores to shop and even a mall. A lot of people are friendly. When I visite ...Read More d the city of Independence recently, I fell in love with the historic downtown area. There were many unique and unusual shops to explore and the Clinton Soda Fountain Shop is like stepping back into time. It was a nice place to stop for an old-fashioned ice cream sundae.

Although Independence does not offer any lively nightlife activities, there are plenty of attractions and things to do geared toward family fun. There is a water park, nature trails and wagon rides through the historical districts. Another point of interest is the Puppetry Arts Institute, which offers shows daily.

Perfect for people who are interested in American history or for family entertainment, Independence is a great place to visit. It offers small town charm and down-home personality to all of its visitors. Read Less
