Huntsville, Texas: Outdoor Lovers Paradise

For an active family like mine, Huntsville, Texas, is an outdoor lover’s paradise. The city is located adjacent to Sam Houston National Forest so there are plenty of places I can take the family camping and hiking. There are also lots of state parks and museums in the area, and we never lack for something to do.

I’ve found the school system to be one of the best we’ve encountered in our travels. The ratio of students to teachers, one teacher to about 14 students, keeps classes relatively small and personalized for students. My children love that, and so do I.

Summers can be warm in Huntsville but not terribly so, and they are more than made up for by the mild winters. I love the fact that there is hardly a day that the weather keeps me inside and prevents me from enjoying the outdoors. Huntsville has a small town feel with plenty to do and has turned out to be the perfect place for me and my family.
