Rural Indiana at It's Best 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 16, 2018) Huntington, Indiana is a small town located just an hour or so southwest of Fort Wayne. It has an average performing public school system that could be improved but isn't entirely bad. The community is safe, with a well-trained competent and fair police force. Huntington is also ...Read More home to a municipal airport which serves charter flights and business flights that connect the city to the rest of the world. The housing market in Huntington is decent, with house prices staying lower and property taxes being reasonable.

The shopping, nightlife and dining options in Huntington certainly do leave something to be desired. There are an adequate amount of chain stores for home essentials so needs will be met. However, Huntington is farther away from any shopping malls or major shopping centers that you'd have to drive all the way to Fort Wayne to enjoy.

The overall weather in Huntington is comparable to the rest of Indiana and the Midwest, being that winters are cold and snowy, and summers are hot and humid. It is also worth noting that Huntington is in tornado alley, so residents are subjected to potential tornadoes during the spring and summer months. Read Less
