If you love a partially tropical climate where the sun shines most of the time you are going to love the neighborhood of Nottingham Forest VIII in Houston, Texas. In October of 2000 my family and I moved from Houston's centrally located Galleria area to Nottingham Forest VIII (NF ...Read More
VIII) located in the western side of Houston, Texas. We decided to live in Nottingham Forest VIII for so many positive reasons. As a young, new family we wanted a homey feel with the traditional house, big backyard and beautifully established trees. We were also searching for good schools for our child attend. In NF VIII we easily found all of these things and more.
Nottingham Forest VIII backs up to another beautiful neighborhood called Westchester. The residents in the Nottingham Forest VIII neighborhood are fortunate to share the Westchester swimming pool and tennis courts for an annual fee. The families and histories you will come to know simply at the pool alone are many where long time friendships naturally develop.
We also love this west side area of Houston for its restaurants, shopping malls, bayou paths and the wonderful family-feel you get where ever you go. Baseball and football games are always a big part of the cultural air. Little League players are abundant at Memorial Ashford Little League. Everyone enjoys the old-fashioned snack bar with hamburgers, hotdogs and more. It is truly a great place to go for a day outdoors.
The only negative side to living in this area like any other would be the traffic issues and the ups and downs of crime waves. Happily, this beautiful area is comfortably quiet and safe. Thankfully, this west side of town is large, but small enough to be a community that sticks together.
Here you can comfortably and conveniently enjoy at least two malls within only a few miles of this neighborhood. Cinemas, grocery stores, medical facilities and friendly people are waiting just for you!
