Sugarland, Houston - The Emerald City User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 06, 2012) I lived in an apartment in the Sugarland neighborhood in Houston, Texas for about two years. The area was so quiet that I thought I was living in a home in the middle of nowhere. The neighbors are great, and I enjoyed being able to walk across the street to a park. There are seve ...Read More ral shopping areas in near the neighborhood. The lawns are manicured perfectly, and the people could not be any nicer. I saw so many green trees and emerald lawns while I lived in Sugarland.

Some people have complained about the employment in the country, but I did not have any trouble at all finding a job in the Sugarland area. Most of the places that hire are retail stores, but you can sometimes find a job at a golf course or local restaurant. One of the things that I loved about living in the area was that I could walk to most of the places I needed to go to. Most of the businesses are close together, and it really saves on gas.

If you don't like flowers, then don't move here. There are flowers everywhere. From gardens of flowers surrounding water fountains to gazebos with flowers around the steps, you can see flowers everywhere you go. This only enhances the beauty of the neighborhood. When I would walk outside on the porch of my apartment, I could look out over the neighborhood and see the skyline of Houston. It is an amazing sight at night when the city is lit up.

I don't think there are any negative things to say about Sugarland. I would like to see a few more affordable retail stores open because most of the places to shop at are expensive. However, the area is a little expensive to live in. There are homes and complexes that will not break your wallet, but you have to search for them. Read Less
