Holtsville, NY - A Little Town Close to Big City Life 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in Holtsville, New York is a good experience. I like the fact that the crime rate is below that of New York. I also like the fact there is no shortage of venues for shopping, leisure coffee venues, parks, and even fitness. Entertainment is on the low sparse side, but I’m ...Read More the type of person who can keep myself occupied.

The median income here is significantly higher than that of New York, or the country. The unemployment and poverty rates are both low. There are a lot of jobs to go around. To me, this means there will always likely be a lower crime rate when people are gainfully employed.

I like the sunny weather in summer. Everyone knows that winters in New York can be cold, but that’s just par for the course. Holtsville is not the type of town for anyone looking for a fast life. However, New York is only an hour and a half away. Read Less
