Nice and quiet. Close to the city. Don’t have to worry about crime. Despite the hearsay about parking, I find parking every time. People mind their business. Middle Hoboken seems to be clean. Watch out with meter maids. The weather is as cold as anywhere else in nyc and nj. The ...Read More
guy who left a bad comment about Hoboken was right on restaurants (lackluster). People mind their business. I mean when you’re making okay money you want to mind your own business in hopes that others will too. This is not snobbish. This is just minding your own business. Property value goes up and the high prices keeps certain people away that don’t need to be here.

Hoboken used to be cool but now that Jersey City has cleaned up (and slightly more affordable there) Hoboken looks like an overpriced dump. Historically, Hoboken was and is a predominantly white bedroom community to NYC. It's also run by crooked Democrat politicians as well as th ...Read More
e mafia and that's never going to change. Weather is all over the place. When it rains, the sewers overflow, and it's windy as hell at all times. It's freezing cold from December to May, especially this past year. Take your hand out of your pocket and it will immediately feel numb. All the good bars and restaurants have either closed because of high rent or been pushed out: Maxwell's, Helmer's, etc. It's completely expensive and it's probably cheaper to live in parts of Manhattan at this point. Lower Hoboken is filled with Jersey Shore trash in the winter and sanctimonious whorish women year-round. Upper Hoboken is snobby as hell. There are lot's of restaurants but the majority of them are overpriced and the food is lackluster compared to the city. The PATH has limited schedules on the weekends making it a trek to come home from the city during the night (45 minutes between trains at some points.) People just seem surly and miserable here - avoid if you can.

Hoboken NJ, a beautiful city on the Hudson river has its own charm. It is a city where youngsters like to be for the sake of enjoying the nightlife. For families this is a perfect place to raise kids. There are great schools around and one can see the ratings on the internet befo ...Read More
re deciding on the school.
If you are in the city for at least a month, you know how popular the local pubs are among travelers. You will get used to the noise that run late into midnight and the long lines at the bars during holidays. There are plenty of things to do, especially sight-seeing near the river. When it comes to affordability, this is not a place if you are looking to save some money with accommodation. Real estate market is crazy in this city but not as worse as New York or Manhattan and apartments are expensive even for a studio room. I have been living in this place for the past four years and have seen rent increase at least once a year. Currently, I pay double the amount of what it used to be when I started. Besides the great restaurants, cuisines and shopping malls, there is something else that people consider this city as favorable - easy commute to Manhattan and New York City and a wide range of transportation to make that happen.
You will not see the rush hour traffic and residents benefit from the abundance of fresh air - one of the advantages to moving to this place rather than other big cities. The city also features unexplored monuments and trails that people enjoy to spend their weekends on, especially singles like me. Overall, I highly recommend Hoboken.
