Crimes are unaddressed, police refusing to make arrests and investigate criminal complaints allowing certain demographics of individuals...particularly women, sexual assault victims, domestic violence victim ...Read More s, especially those with poverty or addiction or low socioeconomic status who cannot afford to or are scared to follow due process for civil rights infractions on failure to protect under the law. In this way they can keep a low number of officers employed and can appear to be a very safe town, which is a comfort to the parents of college students who read reports such as this and believe their child will attend college in a safe, quaint, small town utopia. And it is that for the college and it's students and subsidiaries. For anyone with struggles and challenges that accompany poverty or low socioeconomic status it is one of the most unsafe, uncertain, and blatantly dangerous and unprotected places to ever be a victim of a crime or request law enforcement to assist or protect .
