I have lived in northern Haltom City 22 years , unfortunately across the street from a METH DEALER that has operated the entire 22 years , I have witnessed 4 DRUG RAIDS ( so far ) and had 2 death threats .. ALL Holidays are VERY DANGEROUS because of all the gunfire in all direct ...Read More
ions and bullets flying throughout the neighborhood . Christmas Eve 2021 Police response time was 4 hours because of all the gunfire . An explosion of homeless people in 2022 and a homeless camp just 200 feet from my front door as I write this , sad that they are everywhere . Had to run an elderly lady out of my front yard who was taking a bath NUDE with my water hose . She had been also defecating on the side of my home as well . CRIME is out of control and 5 homes on my street broken into in 1 year . Wish I would have talked to neighbors before purchasing my home , LESSON LEARNED .. Other parts of Haltom City are GREAT , but the northern part is totally ignored by city officials .School District ( BISD ) is family oriented and I retired from there after many years of service , kids knew me as Mr. Fixit . I believe Honesty is Best Policy when writing reviews. Haltom City is going downhill VERY rapidly .

direction , some fully automatic and bullets recor-shaying everywhere . Christmas Eve 2021 Police response time was 4 hours ! because of all the gunfire , sounded like I was in Ukraine ! Homeless people everywhere and a homelss camp now just 200 feet from my front door as I write this , had to run an elderly lady out of my front yard who was taking a bath NUDE with my water hose . I have had officers get mad at me for complaining and the average response time is about 45 minutes ( unacceptable ) Haltom City Police has a HUGE turnover and can't keep officers , most move on to " greener pastures " as I was told by one .Other parts of Haltom City are good to excellent , but the northern part is ignored ( just being truthful ) .. I wish that I would have talked to neighbors before purchasing my home , lesson learned ! NOT a kid freindly area , VERY DANGEROUS .

I have lived in Haltom City my whole life. We were formerly a small town outside of Fort Worth. Now we are a full suburb of Fort Worth because of the massive influx of people that either leave the community to work or come into the community to work but that do not live in Haltom ...Read More
City proper. This is also true because the sprawl of Fort Worth is becoming massive. This makes us seem much larger than we actually are. It also makes us sort of a commuter society. No one has to do anything in Haltom anymore because the city has kind of reached us. There is quick access into Fort Worth and into Dallas if that is necessary. Because of this, most people seek entertainment and shopping outside of Haltom, and that development has not been good for some of the local business that thrived when Haltom was isolated somewhat.
However, children have a wide variety of opportunities that are now easily accessible. They can also earn a living outside of Haltom City and return home every night. This makes the change that has taken place beneficial in that regard. Some of the old businesses survive because of the new influx of money, and the community seems strong at this point. The games on Friday night are much larger because our population has increased, but they have also become more entertaining since the number of different teams that we encounter during a season has changed so much. The sprawl also means that we do not have to venture out further into the cities or the Metroplex. We have gotten older and do not like to encounter traffic in the proportions that the cities have traffic. So our lifestyle has not changed as much as we thought it would when the building boom began.
