Greer, A Great Home For Carolina Tech Professionals 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) I've lived in a few parts of South Carolina, and Greer is one of the most charming towns. If you work in tech and want to enjoy weather of northern South Carolina--along with the lower South Carolina cost of living--this is the place to be.

Living in Greer, SC gives you a kiss o ...Read More f nature while delivering old-style Southern downtown class. It's a bit over an hour and a half from Charlotte, NC and Rock Hill, SC, and 21 minutes from Greenville. Greenville is SC's tech hub, and while tech in SC is still at an early stage, it's hard not to find work if you're anywhere near entry level IT or above.

You're also in a state with one of the calmer, but beautiful beaches in the US. Myrtle Beach is a bit under 4 and a half hours from Greer, so it's a day trip at the very least.

The town itself is a Southern food hot spot. You don't need to leave town to eat great, and even though the great cities nearby have even more variety, the savings from living in Greer can make your meals taste even better. Read Less
