A not well known CA Jewel 5 rating By Anonymous ( May 09, 2019) I have lived in SF and Marin County. I would have moved to Green Valley sooner if I had known of it.
The gated communities have expensive large houses but, these are available for much less than in Oakland, SF, Danville or Marin county.
Napa and it’s wonderful restaurants and ...Read More recreation is 15 minutes from my front door.
Also, Oakland is 30 miles away and if you want to avoid traffic, you can take BART from one of the Bay Area stations.
You are close enough to the Bay that summer temperatures in Green Valley are 10-15 degrees cooler than Vacaville and Sacramento but not fogged in like SF. Read Less

It is a beautiful little rural community between Napa and Fairfield with quick access to Hwy 80, 680 & 12. There are some hiking trails nearby, a fabulous variety of local fresh ...Read More foods at farmer markets, medical care and shopping within a 10-15 minute drive. We are within an hour's drive to San Francisco, Sacramento, East Bay or Sonoma on the weekends and an easy day trip to the ocean or mountains. Roads and public services are well cared for and we feel safe in our little community, having never experienced crime or heard of any from our neighbors. There is a part of Green Valley appropriate to families with young children, but the greater area is more conducive to affluent couples or retirees. The biggest challenge is finding high paying jobs to afford living in this beautiful community. Traffic can be a bear for commuting more than 20 miles in any direction during rush hours. I have considered moving for better job opportunities in my field, but decided to commute because I can't find a better place to live. I love the open space and don't want to attract too many people to move here - and neither do our neighbors. We defeated a measure that would allow new development in the area by 95%! So, you are welcome to come visit our parks, trails and farmers markets, but please don't stay long. If you do decide to live here, be prepared for a high mortgage, as there are few places for rent in this lovely little gem tucked away in the hillside. Read Less
